Susan Greenbaum
After using her BA in studio art and Elementary Education to teach middle grade students (all subjects) for 25 years, Susan has developed from a watermedia artist into an experimental mixed media artist, working primarily in hot and cold wax mediums. She has taken many workshops with nationally respected teachers and now blends all she has gleaned into her own expressive and color-driven style. She works by beginning intuitively and then creating a conversation with the work--letting it drive her next moves until it reaches its conclusion. Her main love is in creating layers of mystery and interest in her work. Susan prefers to present a sense or a feeling of something rather than an explicit depiction. This method has rewarded her with numerous awards as well as signature status in the Northwest Watercolor Society, the International Society for Experimental Artists and Watercolor Society of Oregon. Her work has been purchased for multiple corporate organizations, hospitals and private collections. A studio in Lake Grove, Oregon is the place where much of her creating takes place and it can be seen there by appointment or at Art Elements Gallery in Newberg, Oregon and Art in the Village Gallery in Multnomah,Oregon.
