My current work consist of two seperate processes, first that of laminating different woods to create interesting shapes in which the different woods create in part the design of the vessel. The second type is  to take found pieces of wood and create from that a more organic and visually pleasing shapes and using the positive shapes and negitive spaces for a final work. Many times this wood is discarded or considered unusable but I find that this can lead to some very interesting and unusal sculptures.
My journey started out in graphic design and painting in southern California in the early 70's. After several years I returned to the U of O where I recieved a Fine Arts degree and moved to sculpture and then wood. I worked in construction designing and building stairs and other custom wood structures providing an income while continuing to work on sculptures. I like trying new things and pushing the limits of whatever material and am working in, especially wood.
